On the basis of the university's freshman orientation week activities, the school organized a series of orientation week activities with the school's unique characteristics from September 18th to September 24th, tailored to the actual needs of students in the joint training program, in order to assist freshmen in the "2+2" joint training program in better adapting to university life. This freshman orientation week featured over 20 courses including safety education, time management, and quality management, and meticulously organized classroom lectures, face-to-face communication sessions, and study visits. University leaders taught the first lesson in academic guidance, guiding freshmen to get a good start in university. Teachers from the school provided a comprehensive instruction to lay a solid foundation for freshmen's university studies. Outstanding upperclassmen shared their learning experiences, allowing freshmen to draw on the strength of role models for better growth and development. Visits to companies provided freshmen with an authentic experience of professional knowledge and the power of technology.
On-Site Promotion by Partner Institutions to Boost Confidence in Overseas Studies
On the morning of September 19th, the school invited David Michael Smith, former Deputy Dean of the School of Business and Law at the University of Portsmouth in the UK, to give a presentation on campus. Luan Tiangang, Chancellor of the University, participated in the event. In his speech, he warmly welcomed the delegation from the University of Portsmouth and pointed out that launching the "2+2" Sino-foreign joint undergraduate training program with renowned foreign universities is a solid step forward for the university in promoting high-level openness to the outside world and enhancing the level of international education. He hopes that students will keep their motherland in mind, think globally, make the most of their youth, and achieve academic success. Bobby Mehta, the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Portsmouth, delivered a video speech, expressing his heartfelt thanks for the efforts made by Wuyi University and the University of Portsmouth in their cooperation. Launching IELTS Training Program to Enhance Language Proficiency
In response to the requirements of the "2+2" joint training program, the school has developed a systematic study plan for freshmen centered around language learning. On the afternoon of September 19th, the IELTS training team arranged an IELTS study plan lecture for freshmen, imparting learning strategies and skills. Teachers assessed the English proficiency of freshmen in listening, speaking, reading, and writing, and provided detailed feedback and personalized preparation guidance for each student, fully preparing for the subsequent tiered teaching. Freshmen expressed that the lecture helped them better grasp the methods and skills of language learning, and they will follow the study plan step by step to improve their language proficiency, laying a solid foundation for future studies.

Corporate Field Study to Enhance Career Awareness
To give freshmen a more intuitive understanding of the content and development prospects of their chosen major, on the afternoon of September 20th, the school organized all freshmen to visit the China Telecom Jiangmen Branch 5G Internet+ Base for a study tour. During the visit, students interacted with technical personnel and gained a deeper understanding of network data processing and cloud computing technology. Through the field study, students personally felt the "digital" power in high-quality development, broadened their horizons, and became more determined in their future direction and learning confidence, expressing that their career goals are clearer, and they will study professional knowledge diligently and improve their professional quality during their university years.

Science and Technology Competitions to Inspire Innovation and Entrepreneurship Awareness
To guide freshmen in establishing an innovative consciousness and cultivating the ability to innovate and start businesses, on the afternoon of September 21st, the school invited academic competition guidance teachers to give an extracurricular science and technology competition enlightenment lecture for students. They guided freshmen to establish an innovative consciousness from three aspects: independent learning, innovative training, and academic competitions, stimulating the enthusiasm of freshmen for innovation and entrepreneurship. In addition, outstanding upperclassmen representatives shared their experiences in learning, scientific research, and competitions with freshmen, stimulating their learning vitality and encouraging them to actively engage in university life with a positive attitude, writing their own new chapters.
